ABOUT THE EVENT:

Set for October 29, this cooking competition is part of Alabama Coasting's Bama-Q Grilling Series. The Cast Iron Battle at the Fort will feature up to 30 top cook teams creating their best “surf & turf” dish using cast iron cookery. In addition to competing for cash, cool trophies and bragging rights, the winner will earn a Golden Ticket to the 2022 World Food Championships in Dallas, Texas.  Additional programming includes a People’s Choice sampling contest, cooking demonstrations, a local vendors’ market, and historic culinary presentations.

Each competition is live-streamed and filmed for broadcast on our network of some 20 platforms which includes more than 2 million cable and satellite homes and approximately 50 million households. Our Bama-Q streaming programs average 300,000 viewers per month. (An important additional benefit of our streaming network, is the long “shelf life” of digital programming. Our Bama-Q Grilling series episodes will be accessible for viewing for years to come.)  In addition to covering the competition, each episode highlights the venue and the locale. For this one, we’ll emphasize the natural beauty, island amenities, and laid-back culture of the Sunset Capital of Alabama.
