Hooked on the Bayou Seafood Festival

 

Celebrating the Seafood culture and industry of Bayou La Batre, this event will showcase hard working people of the Bayou and rich harvest they produce. Activities include:

 

Up Close and Personal conversations and demonstrations with industry folks such as shrimpers, shrimp net makers, oyster tongers and oyster farmers.

 

A children’s fun zone with fish painting and oyster shell crafting

Demonstration and sampling of the different varieties of shrimp harvested in the Gulf

 

Oyster shucking contest and tastes comparisons of different farmed oysters

Bama-Q Grilling in the Bayou – Steak Cook-off

 

A Bama-Q TV Grilling with Bama-Q event – Teams from all over the country gather in the Bayou to compete for cash, cool trophies, and bragging rights. Also, the Seafood Soup Ancillary is a Qualifying event for the World Food Championships

2-2:30 – Steak A Turn In
